World’s Wealthiest Nerd Joins Social Networking Sites – Gets “Friends”

Our top story this Wednesday morning is the news that former Microsoft head-honcho, and founder of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation*, Bill Gates has joined Twitter and Facebook, Computer World reports. Having signed on Tuesday, Bill Gates has, as of the time of this article, 222,873 followers and 40 people he’s following, including singer Ashley Tisdale and goofball Ashton Kutcher. In response to Kutcher’s welcome message, Gates replied with,

“@aplusk thanks to you and all the other people who have welcomed me. I’ve got a lot to learn about Twitter but look forward to sharing more.”

Number one on his list of things to learn about Twitter? How to take it over and make it part of the Microsoft Network.
